The day before the test day at Pocono.

Hugh is finishing prepping a customer's Nissan GT-R for HPDE with new Sabelt racing harnesses, a rear harness bar, and a custom camera system to capture all the action from behind the wheel. As well as giving the car a full inspection and service, the car was all set to go.

Since the past race at NJMP Lightning Circuit in mid April, Cecil Ramotar's BMW has gone through many aerodynamic changes. He has since upgraded to a huge, 67.5" carbon rear wing to help with rear downforce and a custom HSM, two-piece front splitter/undertray to help the car grip better in the front.

"I just didn't have enough grip in the back before. It used to feel less stable in the back, but now the downforce helps with the grip immensely." Ramotar said.

The reason HSM fabricated a two-piece splitter rather than a regular one-piece unit was to help ease removal and storage of the bumper/splitter. The first part is secured to the car's underbody brace (BMW Motorsport). On this, there are slots in which the second piece's pins slot through to secure them together. That second piece is secured snug underneath the front bumper and is the front splitter itself. This design lessens the chance of the splitter/undertray of getting damaged during transport, as there now is less to lug around since half of it is connected to the bottom of the car.

Here is a preview of what is to come at Pocono:
